Phoebe first discovered Food Forward and her interest in reducing food waste when she started volunteering for the Farmer’s Market Recovery Program in 2014. She furthered her interest in agriculture and sustainability when she studied Environmental Science at California Lutheran University. When she wasn’t studying, she spent a lot of time with her hands in the soil, growing and planting produce at the University’s Garden. However, she knew that there was something missing and wanted to do more for her community. When she is not working, you can find her knitting and crocheting, making pottery, and hanging out with her dog.
