David was born and raised in Colima, Mexico where he lived until he was 19 years old and decided to move to the United States. Before he joined Food Forward, he worked in DCG Distribution for 23 years. He was a warehouse worker that worked using a forklift driver, order puller, and inventory control. He would work with dry goods like school chocolate bars, avocado dry mixes up to regular merch like motorcycle tires and oil. What he found interesting about Food Forward is that it’s a nonprofit organization that focuses on food abundance through other agencies to help people in need. When David isn’t working, he loves spending time with his grandchildren and taking them to soccer practice.
